Founded on what began as a hobby, the Purple Chord Story began officially in the Netherlands in 2014. The Purple Chord project is the product of Beppe Quiroli's long-held passion and fascination for the history, beauty and quality of vintage drums and cymbals.
With more than 20 years of experience behind him, and based on a deep and precise knowledge of the vintage drum and cymbal market, Beppe has grown Purple Chord into a community of like-minded drummers from diverse musical backgrounds.
Purple Chord is a true reference for musicians with a shared interest and love of high-quality vintage and classic drums and cymbals.

With a move to Portugal in 2024, Beppe’s Purple Chord continues in a new and exciting phase of its life.
Beppe is focused on the best of classic “A” brand drums and cymbals, proposing an exclusive and niche catalogue of vintage instruments. With the benefit of his knowledge and experience he offers consulting and procurement services and support to drummers of all levels of experience to find the best instrument for their needs.
His mission is to bring back to life these unique and special instruments, beautifully reconditioning them to their former beauty and sound.
Tribute to a much missed friend and drummer
Beppe fell in love with vintage Ludwig and Paiste many years ago, thanks to the deep friendship of a dear departed, and never forgotten friend and mentor, Antonio "Tony Blanco".
Antonio was an exquisite drummer, with expert knowledge of drums. Antonio inspired Beppe to not only take up drumming himself, but also to learn more about the craftwork that lies behind a classic drum, to understand its simplicity and fineness.
