22" Zildjian EAK Crash Ride – 2761g (1982–1988)

Era: Early 1980s (1982–1988) – Early American K (“EAK”)
Weight: 2761 grams
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No cracks, keyholing, or structural issues.

A rare and historically significant Zildjian EAK Crash Ride, representing the Early American K period when production moved from Istanbul to the USA. This cymbal combines the rich tradition of K Zildjian sound with subtle American innovations in lathing and hammering techniques.

Sound character:
Beautifully balanced semi-dark stick definition with a bright, articulate attack and a warm, dark decay. The sound is versatile enough to function as a crash or a ride, offering controlled wash without losing clarity. Perfect for drummers seeking a classic K Zildjian tone with early American characteristics.

Historical notes:
The EAKs were introduced in the early 1980s when Zildjian production moved to the USA. The trademark stamp changed to a CO style, echoing early 80s Avedis CO markings, while retaining the iconic Star & Moon motif in a slightly adjusted design. Middle Ottoman inscriptions read “Avedis Zildjian Company” with “K. Zildjian & CO” below in English. This period represents a fascinating transitional era for Zildjian, blending vintage craftsmanship with American innovation.

  • 22" Early American K (EAK) Crash Ride, 1982–1988
