This Sound Lab Prototype was crafted as part of a limited run for Maxwell’s K Day 2019, making it a highly collectible and unique cymbal.
Despite its 2634g weight, it plays with a thin, responsive feel, offering a beautifully balanced combination of articulate stick definition and complex, “dirty” crash character. The surface features distinctive cluster hammering and overhammering, resulting in a rich, textured voice with controlled wash and musical spread.
Under the stick, it delivers a woody, defined ping, while opening up effortlessly into a trashy, expressive crash when pushed. The tonal profile is dark, earthy, and complex, with a controlled sustain that never overwhelms.
