18" Zildjiler Istanbul Mehmet Agop Crash Ride – 1797g (Very Rare, 1979–1981)
Condition: Very good for its age
A true collector’s gem from the short-lived Zildjiler era, this 18" crash ride carries the legacy of Agop Tomurcuk & Mehmet Tamdeger, who crafted it shortly after leaving the legendary Turkish K. Zildjian factory.
Historical Significance:
Around 1977–1981, the original K. Zildjian factory in Istanbul closed, prompting these master cymbalsmiths to create the Zildjiler & Zilciler brands.
Due to legal pressure from Zildjian over name similarities, production under Zildjiler lasted only a few years before the company became Istanbul Cymbals in 1982, eventually splitting into Istanbul Agop and Istanbul Mehmet.
Cymbals from this brief period are extremely rare and highly sought after.
Sound & Craftsmanship:
Expertly hand-hammered with the signature warmth and complexity of early Istanbul cymbals
Offers a musical crash-ride tone that is both expressive and versatile
Professionally packed and shipped worldwide from Portugal.
