15" Zildjian Avedis “Trans Stamp” Hi-Hats – 1940s–1950s (769g / 747g)

Beautiful and highly musical pair of 15" Zildjian Avedis “Trans Stamp” hi-hats, dating from the late 1940s to early 1950s—a sought-after era known for its exceptional craftsmanship and legendary tonal character.

These hi-hats are in very good used condition, showing authentic vintage wear:

  • Light roughness along parts of the edge
  • Small keyhole on the 769g cymbal
  • No cracks or structural issues

Both cymbals feature a natural, well-developed patina, contributing to their complex and expressive voice.

Weighing 769g (top) / 747g (bottom), this is an exceptionally light, paper-thin pair, offering a level of responsiveness and feel that is increasingly rare to find.

Sound characteristics:

  • Dry, chalky tone with a soft, controlled wash
  • Buttery, “shaker-like” stick definition
  • Warm, gentle slosh when played open
  • Crisp yet dry bark on the pedal

These hi-hats excel in jazz, acoustic, and low-volume settings, where nuance, texture, and dynamic control are essential. Their light weight allows for effortless expression and a very musical response under the stick.

⚠️ Note: The smaller vintage center hole will not accommodate some modern oversized hi-hat rods/clutches without adaptation.

A rare opportunity to own a true vintage Trans Stamp pair, prized for their feel, character, and unmistakable old-world sound.
